The Dog Day Camp at At
Last Farm includes an indoor doggy lounge,
large outside kennels and play areas. The property also includes
cross fenced fields and a lower pasture to allow traveling dogs
to work off some of that pent up energy. There is plenty of room
to fetch a ball or Frisbee or just run.
Like most dog day care facilities the farm requires vaccination
records and tests dogs for sociability. There is a veterinarian
on call.
At Last Farm’s Dog Day Camp is open Wednesday
– Sunday from 9 am – 5 pm. Reservations are required. Special evening
dining hours are available by appointment.

Welcome to our world of At Last Farm
Sometimes you get what you wish for . . .
At Last Farm was purchased by Ann Kanitz in 1989 with the idea
of keeping the old ways alive while at the same time carving out
a rewarding lifestyle for her.
She began by raising heirloom Navajo sheep. Today the property
is home to an orchard full of heirloom apple trees and a large
working garden.
Permanent residents of the farm include Dolly the Llama, a miniature
horse named Redmond, Ann’s own Tibetan Terriers and a herd of
Icelandic sheep. Protecting the sheep and all the residents of
At Last Farm are Bijou, the Great Pyrenees,
and two Tibetan Mastiffs. Also in residence is a small flock
of exotic laying hens.
In 2006, Ann decided
to add a dog day care to the offerings of At
Last Farm. The goal
was to provide to residents and the many visitors to the coast
a way to enjoy some of the not so dog friendly activities such
as whale watching or wine tasting in the Anderson
Valley, visiting the unique shops, art galleries and superb restaurants
along the Mendocino Coast
“The business is still evolving,” says Kanitz, “For now I am concentrating on providing the best day camp experience
around. I just love watching city dogs come in and enjoy all
the news sights, sounds and smells they find on the farm.”
In 2008, Amy Soderman began working with Ann Kanitz. She
is an experienced dog handler with a keen interest in dog behavior
and alternative health. As a dog groomer and exhibitor she has
helped many owners build healthy relationships with their dogs.
Amy and her husband Paul have resided in Boonville, CA since 2004.
Amy has an MBA and was a successful project manager/accountant
in the fields of Health Care, Computers, and Government. She actively
participates in the sport of dogs by training and competing in
conformation, obedience, rally, and agility. Amy owns Nova Scotia
Duck Tolling Retrievers and Tibetan Terriers.
